27th International Oud Festival Opens in Jerusalem This November

Jerusalem will host the annual International Oud Festival featuring Middle Eastern and global music. The eight-day event includes 16 concerts across major city venues.

The 27th International Oud Festival will take place in Jerusalem from November 5 to 12. Organizers scheduled 16 concerts at the Jerusalem Theatre, the Khan Theatre, and the Confederation House. The eight-day event brings together Israeli and international musicians performing classic Middle Eastern repertoire and cross-cultural projects.

Jonny Greenwood of Radiohead and Israeli musician Dudu Tassa will open the festival on November 5. They will perform Jarak Qaribak, a collaborative project that reimagines Middle Eastern love songs with a modern acoustic sound.

The festival lineup includes Greek artists Babis Tsertos and Areti Ketime, alongside Indian musicians Rakesh Chaurasia, Purbayan Chatterjee, and Ojas Adhiya. Taiseer Elias, Wassim Odeh, and Shlomi Shaban will represent the Israeli music scene. The local band Teapacks will close the event on November 12.

The Confederation House established the International Oud Festival in 2000 under the artistic direction of Effie Benaya. The platform promotes cultural dialogue and artistic exchange on an international level. Tickets are available online through the Confederation House website and the Bimot ticketing network.
