Israel’s Ministry of Defense launches Shikum.Me app for wounded soldiers’ rehabilitation

The Israel Ministry of Defense has introduced Shikum.Me, an innovative mobile application designed to simplify access to rehabilitation services for veterans suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), mental health conditions, and traumatic brain injuries. The launch took place in early January 2026 and has already received positive feedback from users.
Through the Shikum.Me system, an annual digital budget of 6,000 NIS (approximately $1,900 USD) is credited to the digital balance of veterans and wounded soldiers. These funds can be spent on therapy, sports activities, and other forms of support without excessive bureaucracy. Users can choose from over 5,000 service providers, including traditional and alternative therapies such as yoga, art therapy, and psychological counseling. A built-in rating system and availability info help users quickly find the right specialist.
“This app is a true breakthrough in the rehabilitation system. We developed it based on direct feedback from wounded soldiers to make the recovery process simpler and more efficient,” stated a representative from the Israel Ministry of Defense. According to the spokesperson, Shikum.Me integrates digital tools for progress tracking and session reminders, which is particularly vital for those facing chronic health issues.
The startup behind the development collaborated with military experts and IT specialists to ensure data security and a user-friendly interface. The app is available for download on the App Store and Google Play and is already being used by hundreds of veterans. Experts note that such initiatives highlight Israel’s leadership in the health-tech sector, where technology helps solve social challenges.
In the context of ongoing conflicts in the Middle East, Shikum.Me is becoming an essential tool for supporting those who risked their lives for the country. The Ministry plans to expand the app’s functionality in the coming months, adding modules for family therapy and online consultations.
Further information about the application can be found on the official website of the Israel Ministry of Defense.
