This creates a powerful instant gratification loop that quickly evolves into a persistent habit and can provoke addictive behaviors, a risk that is particularly critical for younger demographics.
Research teams, notably neurobiologists from Zhejiang University in China, utilized functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) to observe subjects viewing a personalized feed. They recorded a distinct drop in prefrontal cortex activity. This specific brain region governs our executive functions, attention span, and impulse inhibition.
