Cryptocurrency Exchange BitMart Shuts Down Following BitMEX Closure

Cryptocurrency exchange BitMart has officially confirmed the complete termination of its business operations. The platform became the second crypto company in less than a week to exit the digital asset industry. Just days prior, the management of the BitMEX exchange released a similar statement regarding its closure.
Business representatives cite severe market conditions as the primary catalyst for shutting down the platforms. The ongoing bear cycle causes a sharp decline in trading volumes and a massive outflow of market liquidity. Consequently, these platforms struggle to maintain profitability, cover infrastructure costs, and compete for the remaining user base.
Extended market downturns historically force major players out of the cryptocurrency industry. In 2014, a similar bear trend triggered the massive collapse of the Mt. Gox exchange, while the 2022 crisis culminated in the bankruptcy of FTX. Now, the ongoing market slump has forced both BitMEX and BitMart to permanently shut down their operations.
The management of both exchanges urges clients to liquidate all active trading positions immediately. Users must withdraw their digital assets to third-party wallets before the final deactivation of all platform servers and services.
