Beitar Jerusalem beats AEK Larnaca on penalties following an Omer Atzili brace
Israeli side Beitar Jerusalem secured a victory over Cyprus’s AEK Larnaca in a penalty shootout. The tense encounter ended 2-3 to AEK after regular time, before going to extra time and ultimately penalties.

Beitar Jerusalem defeated Cypriot outfit AEK Larnaca in a penalty shootout after a dramatic 2-3 defeat in regular time. Forward Omer Atzili was the hero of the match, scoring both of Beitar’s goals.
Atzili converted a penalty in first-half stoppage time and added a second goal in the 87th minute to level the score. However, AEK regained the lead deep into stoppage time. Extra time produced no further goals, and the tie was decided from the penalty spot, where Beitar prevailed.
The result saw Beitar advance to the next round of UEFA Conference League qualifying.
