Jerusalem’s Docu.Text Film Festival Returns with Aviv Geffen Concert

The 11th annual Docu.Text Documentary Film Festival will take place in Jerusalem from August 16 to 20 at the National Library of Israel. The event brings together screenings of new documentaries, Q&A sessions with directors, panel discussions, exhibitions, and special cultural events, transforming the library into a premier summer cultural destination.
The festival lineup features dozens of Israeli and international films exploring themes of culture, music, history, memory, and contemporary society. Many screenings will be followed by Q&A sessions with the filmmakers, while select evenings will conclude with live concerts and special performances.
The festival opens on August 16 with the premiere of *The Sixteenth Lamb – The Reunion*, a documentary by director Ran Tal, who will be in attendance to present the film. Closing night on August 20 promises a major musical and cinematic event: a screening of the film *Aviv*, followed by a live performance by iconic Israeli musician Aviv Geffen and his band, HaTa’uyot.
This year’s program also highlights films about Israeli cultural legends, music documentaries, international premieres, and special outdoor screenings. Attendees can explore thematic exhibitions hosted by the National Library, as well as participate in workshops and guided tours that bridge the gap between cinema, literature, and history.
Tickets are on sale now at https://docutext.nli.org.il. Single-screening tickets are priced at 40 NIS, with festival passes and special discounts available for students, soldiers, and Yerushalmi cardholders. For tickets and the full screening schedule, visit the official Docu.Text festival website.
