Blackstone Acquires MarineMax in $1.5 Billion Deal

Blackstone will acquire MarineMax through its subsidiary, Safe Harbor Marinas. Blackstone will pay shareholders $53 in cash per share. The offer represents nearly a 100% premium to MarineMax’s share price before reports of a potential sale emerged earlier this year.
The MarineMax board of directors has unanimously approved the agreement. Subject to shareholder and regulatory approval, the transaction is expected to close by the end of 2026. Following the transaction, MarineMax will become a private company, and its shares will be delisted from the New York Stock Exchange.
MarineMax currently operates more than 120 facilities worldwide. The company operates a network of dealerships and storage facilities and owns renowned brands such as IGY Marinas, Fraser Yachts, and Northrop & Johnson. The acquisition significantly strengthens Blackstone’s position in the global yacht and boat retail market. Safe Harbor, which Blackstone acquired for $5.65 billion in 2025, will combine its operations with MarineMax, one of the leading players in the industry, further strengthening Blackstone’s global footprint.
