Historic Triumph: Israel Wins 4 Gold Medals at the 2025 International Mathematical Olympiad

Israel’s mathematics team achieved a remarkable success at the 66th International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO), winning four gold medals and taking 6th place overall among 113 participating countries.

This is Israel’s best result ever at the Mathematical Olympiad. The Israeli students demonstrated outstanding preparation, solving challenging problems that required not only deep knowledge but also creative thinking.

The 2025 IMO was held from July 10 to July 20 in Australia and brought together over 600 young mathematicians from around the globe. The winning teams were from China, the USA, and South Korea, but Israel’s team confidently entered the top 10, surpassing strong teams such as Russia and Iran for the first time.

Israel’s Minister of Education called this achievement “a source of national pride” and promised continued support for gifted students’ training programs.
