Results of 17th Israel Agriculture Conference in Jerusalem

The 17th Israel Agriculture Conference has concluded in Jerusalem, bringing together about 850 participants, including leading farmers, heads of regional councils, researchers, and politicians. During the three-day convention, industry representatives signed business deals totaling approximately 240 million shekels.
The central theme of the discussions was finding effective mechanisms to combat the high cost of living in the country. Conference participants agreed that the current government policy of over-reliance on food imports fails to solve the pricing issue. As an alternative, experts proposed focusing on expanding local agricultural production and making systematic investments in young farmers to directly strengthen food security.
Speakers at the conference called on the government to fundamentally change its attitude toward agriculture at the state level. Amid current challenges, the professional community demands that the agro-sector be recognized as a strategic industry essential for Israel’s economic resilience and survival.
