Scandal on Amazon: A Book About Charlie Kirk’s Killing Was Published Before the Tragedy

Amazon explains how a book about the Charlie Kirk tragedy appeared with an incorrect publication date, sparking a scandal.

The recent killing of conservative publicist Charlie Kirk has triggered a wave of speculation after an e-book about the tragedy appeared on the Amazon platform. Social media users noticed that the publication date was listed as September 9, 2025—one day before the attack occurred. This led to numerous accusations of a conspiracy and insider information.

The book, titled “The Shooting of Charlie Kirk: A Comprehensive Account of the Utah Valley University Attack,” was uploaded to Amazon under the name of a certain Anastasia J. Casey, for whom no reliable information could be found.

Amazon representatives were quick to clarify the situation, stating that the incorrect publication date was the result of a “system error” in the Kindle Direct Publishing service. According to their explanation, the glitch was caused by file processing and time zone specificities, and the book itself was only uploaded to the platform after the tragedy.

Fact-checkers from PolitiFact and other media outlets confirmed that a pre-publication was impossible. Journalists noted that such “instant books” are often created with the help of artificial intelligence to profit from a wave of breaking news. The lack of information about the author only confirms this theory.

Experts in online content urge users to be cautious, as such incidents undermine trust in information and contribute to the spread of disinformation.
