First Carrefour Hypermarket Opens in Jerusalem

Jerusalem's first Carrefour hypermarket has opened. Residents of the capital can now access a wide selection of goods, a French bakery, and special opening-day discounts

Today, September 9, 2025, the French retail chain “Carrefour” is holding a grand opening for its first hypermarket in Jerusalem’s Talpiot neighborhood. Located at 14 HaUman Street, the new store will be the 150th branch of the chain in Israel.

Previously, Jerusalem had smaller Carrefour stores, like “Carrefour Market” and “Carrefour City”. This new hypermarket, however, will offer residents the widest selection of products under one roof. It will feature a “La Marche” meat department, a French bakery, and a variety of international products from the “Carrefour” brand.

To celebrate the grand opening, the chain has announced “insane” discounts on a wide range of products, including meat, poultry, fish, fresh fruits, and vegetables.

Residents and visitors can come to the hypermarket starting at 4:30 PM. The organizers expect a large crowd of shoppers.
