This route was much more than just a line between two cities. For thousands of people, it became a part of daily life — a way to military service, studies, work, or loved ones. Route 405 was a symbol of continuous movement, a vital link between the country’s spiritual capital and its economic center.
The primary reason was a significant decrease in demand: the bus often ran nearly empty (8–12 passengers). Substantial competition was provided by the faster and more convenient railway.
