Moshava Beit Elazar Rejects Eyal Golan’s Land Purchase Application

Renowned Israeli singer Eyal Golan, a native of Rehovot, has been denied membership in the Beit Elazar moshava.
Golan planned to purchase a large plot of land in the moshava, approximately 27 dunams, for 11 million shekels. However, his application for membership was rejected by a vote: with 120 votes required in favor, the singer received only 71 votes.
Ahead of the assembly, many residents expressed concerns that Golan’s celebrity status and lifestyle would disrupt the peace and quiet of the moshava. Some openly stated that Golan would “hold parties and disturb the rest.”
Beit Elazar, established in 1948 by immigrants from Yemen, Iraq, Persia, Romania, and Poland, is known as an old agricultural settlement that values its tranquility and traditions.
On behalf of Eyal Golan, it was stated that he will continue to act in accordance with the law and the regulations of the Israel Land Authority, which govern the procedure for joining rural settlements.
