F-35 Simulator in Jerusalem: The “Ha-Tayeset” Educational Campus Begins Operations

A new educational complex, the “Ha-Tayeset Campus,” has launched in the capital of Israel, featuring a full-scale flight simulator of the fifth-generation F-35 fighter jet as its main attraction. The complex was inaugurated on May 18 with the participation of Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Lion. The new training center is located at the “Torah U’Mada” yeshiva. According to the organizers, this is the first educational project of its caliber in Jerusalem. Similar simulation complexes have previously operated only in a few select cities worldwide, including New York.

The educational institution features a fully-fledged replica of an Israeli Air Force base. Students have access to pre-flight briefing rooms, a debriefing hall, and the actual cockpit of the F-35 simulator. The curriculum is built on the practical application of the exact sciences: teenagers and university students directly study physics, aeronautics, engineering, and modern technologies while piloting the virtual fighter jet. Special attention within the complex is given to the development of soft skills. Students learn to work as a team, plan operations, make decisions in complex situations, and conduct detailed post-action analysis—exactly as real Air Force pilots do.

The project was implemented in partnership with former senior officers of the Israeli Air Force and the Lev Academic Center. Mayor Moshe Lion personally tested the simulator and highly praised its potential as a tool for educating and nurturing the new generation. The opening of the campus in Jerusalem marks a significant step in integrating advanced technologies into the education system. The complex is designed to help young people gain a deeper understanding of STEM disciplines, develop leadership qualities, and broaden their professional horizons. This initiative is an expansion of the well-known brand “The Squadron,” which has been operating successfully in Glilot for several years. The training program is primarily tailored for schoolchildren, university students, and organized educational groups.
