Fatal Incident in Jerusalem: Infants Die in Illegal Daycare

A serious incident occurred at a private daycare in the Romema neighborhood: 50 children were affected, and three children died.

Jerusalem is shaken by a tragedy that unfolded in a private daycare in the Romema neighborhood. As a result of the emergency incident, around 50 children were affected, with the consequences proving fatal for three infants. Doctors were forced to confirm their deaths. The situation is made even more tragic by the fact that for one of the deceased infants, it was their very first day at the facility.

According to preliminary investigation materials, the cause of the mass poisoning was criminal negligence in the management of the facility. During the cold season, the room was heated using an open flame. This makeshift heating method led to the accumulation of combustion products in an enclosed space, creating a deadly trap for the infants, whose bodies are particularly sensitive to air quality.

As part of the ongoing criminal investigation, the police have detained three staff members and the daycare owner for questioning. Law enforcement is checking the conditions under which the children were kept, which, according to preliminary data, were far from acceptable standards.

The investigation has also revealed another alarming detail: the facility operated entirely illegally. The Ministry of Education officially confirmed that the daycare was not registered in their records, and the owners had not even attempted to obtain a license for educational or childcare activities.

At present, the police continue to collect evidence to determine the degree of responsibility of each caregiver involved in this tragic incident.
