Germany’s Pascal Ackermann Wins Inaugural Classique Dunkerque in France

Pascal Ackermann wins the first-ever Classique Dunkerque, sprinting to victory over 193.5 km in France. His first win since 2023 marks a comeback with Israel–Premier Tech.

German sprinter Pascal Ackermann of Israel–Premier Tech claimed victory at the debut edition of Classique Dunkerque, held on May 13, 2025, in northern France. The 31-year-old rider covered the 193.5 km course from Dunkirk to Lens in 4 hours, 14 minutes, and 55 seconds, outpacing his rivals in a decisive final sprint.

Biniam Girmay of Eritrea (Intermarché–Wanty) took second place, while Italy’s Alberto Dainese (Tudor Pro Cycling) finished third.

This marks Ackermann’s first win since 2023 and a milestone achievement with his new team. After the race, he thanked his teammates for their teamwork and support, emphasizing the emotional importance of this victory following a long recovery from injury.

Classique Dunkerque is a new one-day road race, recently added to the UCI ProSeries calendar. Organizers aim to make it an annual opener for the prestigious Quatre Jours de Dunkerque stage race.
