Google has released a free AI-powered translator that can be run locally on your own computer—TranslateGemma translates text across 55 languages.
The tool is also capable of reading text from images and translating it instantly. For instance, you can take a photo of a sign, a document, or capture a screenshot—the model will recognize the text and translate it.
The models have undergone deep fine-tuning for 55 major languages, including Russian, Hebrew, English, Chinese, and others. Additionally, they understand hundreds of other dialects “in the background.”
