Eilat’s Hotels Outpace Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, Leading in 2024

Eilat, Israel. Eilat has emerged as Israel’s top tourist destination for 2024, leading the country in hotel occupancy rates. According to recently released data, while the national average for hotel occupancy stood at 60.1%, Eilat reached an impressive *77.2%.
The resort city’s success is also reflected in its financial performance. Eilat not only led with 7.15 million overnight stays but also generated a remarkable *$900.5 million* in revenue, solidifying its position as the country’s primary tourist hub.
For comparison, other major cities showed more modest results:
- Tel Aviv–Jaffa: Recorded a 53.3% occupancy rate with $676.3 million in revenue from 3.28 million overnight stays.
- Jerusalem: Had a 42.2% occupancy rate, bringing in $484.2 million from 2.9 million overnight stays.
Experts attribute Eilat’s success to its unique status as a year-round resort and its well-developed tourism infrastructure, which attracts both local and international visitors.
