Jerusalem’s ‘Ice Box’ Skating Rink Opens at New Location Near Teddy Stadium

The project is part of the Jerusalem Municipality's summer programming, designed to broaden the array of entertainment options for residents and tourists during the school holidays

Locals and tourists looking to escape the summer heat in Jerusalem can now hit the ice at the newly relocated “Ice Box” skating complex, situated adjacent to the eastern grandstand of Teddy Stadium. The seasonal attraction will run from July 7 through August 31, 2026.

Operating hours are Sunday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. (last entry at 9:00 p.m.), and Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (last entry at 2:00 p.m.). General admission is 76 NIS, while “Yerushalmi” resident cardholders can enjoy a discounted rate of 49 NIS.

Boasting approximately 1,300 square meters (14,000 square feet) of real ice, the new Ice Box ranks among the largest seasonal ice-skating complexes in Israel. Organizers have entirely revamped the venue’s layout and design to offer a more modern, family-friendly experience.

Patrons can enjoy 45-minute skating sessions, with skate rentals included on-site. Specialized skating aids are also provided for children and beginners to help them find their footing. Admission to the ice is restricted to children aged five and older, and on-site medical personnel will be present at all times to ensure guest safety.

Initiated as part of the Jerusalem Municipality’s summer programming, the project aims to broaden the array of entertainment options available to residents and tourists during the school holiday season. Despite the sweltering outdoor temperatures, organizers strongly advise visitors to dress warmly for the rink.

The Ice Box is already being hailed as one of Jerusalem’s premier summer family attractions, offering the rare and refreshing opportunity to glide across real ice right in the middle of the Israeli summer.
