Jerusalem Ranks Last in Israel’s Quality of Life City Rankings

The Israel Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) has released a report evaluating the country’s 18 largest cities based on 56 different indicators.
According to the study’s results, Kfar Saba emerged as the leader of the rankings. The city demonstrated the highest results in criteria such as life expectancy, job satisfaction, and the condition of municipal parks.
Ramat Gan took the second spot, climbing one position compared to last year. Positioned in the middle of the list are Netanya, Tel Aviv, and Beer Sheva*- these cities showed significant progress in improving the urban environment and infrastructure. Experts categorized *Haifa, Rishon LeZion, Beit Shemesh, and Hadera as cities with a “moderate” quality of life.
Jerusalem closed the ranking, finishing in 18th place. Despite high scores in specific categories (such as drinking water quality), the capital received low marks due to economic difficulties, the labor market situation, and limited access to various social services.
