Israel Introduces Artificial Intelligence into School Education

Israel launches “The Year of Artificial Intelligence” to integrate AI into schools, aiming to train over a million students and teachers nationwide.

Israel’s Ministry of Education has announced the launch of a large-scale initiative called “The Year of Artificial Intelligence”, aimed at integrating AI into the national school system.

The new project, initiated by Minister of Education Yoav Kisch in collaboration with leading tech companies, is designed to help students and teachers adapt to the realities of the modern digital world. The primary goal of the initiative is not merely to teach programming or AI development, but to prepare students for the effective use of advanced technologies in their learning processes.

“We are not trying to turn every student into an AI engineer,” emphasized Yoav Kisch. “Our goal is to train hundreds of thousands of teachers and over a million students to use AI as part of the educational process. Israel is becoming a global leader in implementing innovative technologies in education.”

Despite the program’s ambitious scope, experts are raising questions about whether the education system can overcome existing structural challenges and effectively adapt schools to rapidly evolving technological standards.
