In Jerusalem, an IDF Museum and a New Defense Headquarters Will Be Established

The Jerusalem Municipality and Israel’s Ministry of Defense have signed a landmark agreement aimed at significantly expanding the presence of the defense establishment in the capital.
The document, signed by Defense Minister Israel Katz, Director General of the Ministry Amir Baram, Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Lion, and Municipal Director General Ariela Rejwan, provides for the implementation of major infrastructure projects.
Under the agreement, a new branch of the Ministry of Defense will be established in Jerusalem, housing offices of the ministry and the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), as well as a research and development center focused on advanced weaponry and technological infrastructure. In addition, a national historical and educational center—the IDF Museum—is planned to open near the Mandel Institute, dedicated to the country’s military history, key operations, and the activities of the Israel Defense Forces.
