Jerusalem Opens New Museum at the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate

A new church museum has opened at the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate in Jerusalem. The exhibition features around 350 unique items, including icons, Gospels, liturgical utensils, vestments, and other works of Christian art, some dating back to the 10th century.
The museum is housed in the residence of Patriarch Diodorus, which previously served as his residence. Heritage conservation specialists took part in its restoration.
The opening was timed to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the enthronement of Patriarch Theophilos III. Representatives of the Greek Orthodox Church and delegations from other countries supporting the cultural mission of the Patriarchate attended the ceremony.
The new museum will serve as a place for the preservation and display of church relics, as well as a venue for cultural and educational programs that strengthen the historical and spiritual ties with the Holy Land.
The Museum of the Jerusalem Patriarchate is located within the complex of the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate in the Old City of Jerusalem. Physical address: Greek Orthodox Patriarchate Street, Christian Quarter, Old City, Jerusalem, Israel.
