Jerusalem’s History at Binyanei HaUma: A Photography Exhibition by Reuven Milon

The exhibition features rare documentary photographs showcasing Jerusalem’s development over nearly 70 years

A unique photography exhibition by Reuven Milon—a man who dedicated his life to the art of photography—has opened at the Binyanei HaUma International Convention Center.

The exhibition features rare historical images captured by Milon from the mid-1950s until his passing in 2023. These photographs vividly showcase the evolution of urban architecture, the transformation of Jerusalem’s streets, and the daily lives of its people.

Reuven Milon (1928–2023) began his journey in photography in the 1950s. In the basement of his home, he set up a small darkroom that became the birthplace of his massive photographic archive. Driven by a deep love for his home city, he took daily walks, capturing the smallest changes in Jerusalem’s landscape. Milon’s archive contains approximately 64,000 images, spanning the period from the founding of the State of Israel to the present day. A significant portion of this material has already been digitized.

Duration: Open until June 2026
