A New “Khan” Railway Station to Be Built in Jerusalem

The Israel National Licensing Authority has officially approved the start of construction work for the new underground “Khan” (החאן) railway station in Jerusalem.
This project marks the first stage of a major extension of the high-speed railway line to the capital.
The station will be located in the area of the cultural hub “First Station,” a popular tourist and entertainment zone.
The new transport artery will allow residents and visitors to reach Jerusalem’s city center faster and more conveniently. It will also provide a direct connection with other railway and metro lines.
According to the plan, the new line will connect the future “Khan” station with the existing Navon high-speed train station, and in the future, with light rail lines. As a result, Jerusalem will become even more accessible, and its center will become a vibrant transit point for passengers from across Israel.
The project is expected to significantly improve infrastructure and make public transportation in the capital more modern, convenient, and environmentally friendly.
