Argentina and Paraguay Squares to Appear in Jerusalem – A Gesture of Diplomatic Gratitude

The Jerusalem Municipality has officially approved the names for two new squares (roundabouts) in the Mordot Arnona neighborhood. The Naming Committee supported Mayor Moshe Lion’s initiative to immortalize the friendship with Paraguay and Argentina on the city map.
This decision is more than just a formality; it is a gesture of gratitude for diplomatic support. In late 2024, Paraguay permanently moved its embassy to Jerusalem, while Argentina, under the leadership of Javier Milei, has been actively strengthening ties with Israel and is preparing a similar move in 2026.
“Jerusalem knows how to value true friendship that is proven by actions,”* emphasized Moshe Lion. The new landmarks will serve as a symbol of the strong alliance between Israel and its Latin American partners, marking another step toward the international recognition of the city’s status as the capital.
