Jerusalem Real Estate in NY: Manhattan to Host Property Expo Featuring Mayor Moshe Lion

According to the Israel Central Bureau of Statistics, over the past year, apartment prices in Jerusalem have increased by 4.2%,

Following a series of Israeli real estate expos in Brooklyn and Queens earlier this month, another major event is being prepared in New York. On May 28, 2026, Manhattan will host the “Coming Home to Jerusalem” forum. This time, the exhibition has received official status, being jointly organized by the Jerusalem Municipality, the Jerusalem Development Authority, and the Israeli Builders Center.

Organizers expect the event to draw around 1,000 attendees, including American investors and individuals planning to immigrate to Israel (*Aliyah*). Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Lion will lead the delegation of developers. The primary goal of the trip is to showcase new residential complexes and attract investment. For many buyers from the U.S., purchasing property in the capital is becoming not just a secure investment, but also a crucial practical step in preparing for repatriation and relocating to the country.

> According to Israel’s Central Bureau of Statistics, while nationwide property sales have slumped, the capital’s real estate market is bucking the trend. Over the past year, apartment prices in Jerusalem rose by 4.2%, whereas Tel Aviv saw a 3.5% decline. This growth is largely driven by buyers from New York, New Jersey, and Florida, who view Jerusalem real estate as a safe-haven asset.

Manhattan buyers will be presented with apartments in upcoming residential complexes as well as urban renewal projects. In recent years, the Jerusalem Municipality has significantly accelerated the issuance of building permits, boosting the volume of approved annual projects from 2,000 to between 6,000 and 7,000.

The New York Police Department (NYPD) is already preparing security measures for the forum. Previous Israeli real estate expos held at local synagogues were met with protests by pro-Palestinian activists, requiring a heavy police presence to maintain order. Nonetheless, Israeli development firms continue to actively engage the U.S. market.
