Jumbo Group Expands Its Network in Israel: Plans to Open 5–6 Additional Stores in 2026

The Greek retail chain Jumbo Group continues to demonstrate steady growth and actively expand its presence beyond its domestic market. According to a report published by Cyprus Mail, the company recorded a 6% increase in sales in November 2025 compared to the same period last year, despite a strong comparison base. Overall, sales growth for the period from January to November reached approximately 8%, highlighting sustained consumer demand across all key markets where the group operates.
The report places particular emphasis on Jumbo Group’s international expansion, which is largely driven by its franchise model. In November, the fourth Jumbo store opened in Israel, further strengthening the brand’s foothold in the local market. Jumbo’s franchisee in Israel and Canada, Fox Group, announced plans to continue its expansion: in 2026, the company intends to open an additional five to six Jumbo stores in Israel.
At the same time, Fox Group is preparing to enter a new North American market. Subject to the absence of unforeseen complications, the launch of the first three Jumbo stores in Ontario, Canada, is planned for 2026, marking an important milestone in the group’s global growth strategy.
Jumbo Group specializes in affordable household goods, toys, seasonal products, and other everyday consumer items. Positive sales growth has been recorded across all major regions: 9% in Greece, 8% in Cyprus, 4% in Bulgaria, and 5% in Romania. Analysts note that the franchise strategy enables Jumbo to scale rapidly in new markets while minimizing operational risks and leveraging local expertise.
The expansion in Israel reflects a broader trend of international retailers investing in the country. Despite geopolitical challenges, Israel continues to demonstrate strong consumer demand and a well-developed retail and logistics infrastructure. Jumbo Group expects the new stores to appeal primarily to family-oriented customers seeking quality products at competitive prices.
