Likud primaries: Erez Tadmor wins Jerusalem and Judea-Samaria district

Likud primaries in the combined Jerusalem, Judea, and Samaria district concluded with a victory for journalist and commentator Erez Tadmor. With approximately 80% of the ballots counted following the August 17, 2026 vote, Tadmor secured more than double the votes of his closest competitor, Shabtai Katash. The verified results confirm Tadmor as the official regional representative.
Winning the district automatically places Tadmor in the 27th position on the Likud national list for the upcoming Knesset elections on October 27, 2026. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu publicly endorsed Tadmor throughout the campaign, naming him his preferred candidate for the region. This outcome significantly elevates Tadmor’s position within the national campaign lineup.
Tadmor previously co-founded the Im Tirtzu movement, served as a Likud campaign spokesperson, and hosted broadcasts on Galey Israel radio. In the 2022 Likud primaries, he finished in 47th place, missing a realistic spot on the slate. His district victory now solidifies his representation of Jerusalem and Judea-Samaria voters in the national race.
