Lubavitcher Rebbe Commemorative Coin: Niue Mint Issues Collectible Dollar

The Lubavitcher Rebbe commemorative coin with a face value of one dollar has been officially issued by the Niue Mint as legal tender. The piece is dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the spiritual leadership of Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson. A division of the New Zealand Mint executed the order for the government of Niue, producing a limited run of 5,786 copies, representing the Jewish year 5786, which corresponds to the year 2026.
The collectible item is struck from one ounce of 999 fine silver, weighing 31.103 grams, and measures 38.7 millimeters in diameter. The minting quality meets the high-relief Proof standard. The creators added a melted ten-cent coin, which the rabbi personally distributed as a blessing, into the general silver alloy used to produce the blanks for the entire series. The mint has also prepared a gold-plated version of the product.
The obverse displays a portrait of the rabbi with a raised hand. The phrase “Blessing and Success” in Hebrew, English, Russian, Arabic, and Chinese surrounds the composition. The reverse features an image of the Chabad-Lubavitch headquarters in New York set against a globe. A menorah and the inscription “Spreading the Light” are positioned below the building, reflecting the concept of spreading Jewish education globally.
