Jerusalem Maccabiah 2026 Night Run: Road Closures and Traffic Restrictions

During the Maccabiah Jerusalem 2026 Night Run, many bus routes will be diverted. Residents and visitors are advised to plan their journeys in advance and use alternative routes to avoid traffic delays.

The Maccabiah Jerusalem 2026 Night Run will bring widespread traffic restrictions to the city center on Tuesday, July 7. Major roads will be closed to traffic from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. as thousands of Israeli and international athletes take part in the 5K, 10K and half marathon (21.1 km) races. The race route passes some of Jerusalem’s most prominent historical landmarks.

Organizers are implementing early road closures to ease congestion in the city center before the event begins. Roads will be closed along Ruppin Street, Rabin Boulevard, Ben-Zvi Boulevard, Hazaz Street, Lorch Street, Fichman Street, Tchernichovsky Street, Shai Agnon Street, Rav Herzog Street and Shota Rustaveli Street, as well as Museum Boulevard and Elisher Street, Brodetsky Street and Balfour Street.

Street parking on Ben-Zvi Boulevard and Ruppin Street will be prohibited from 8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 6, until midnight on Tuesday. Vehicles parked along these routes will not be accessible until the roads reopen.

City authorities are adjusting bus schedules and urging residents to use alternative routes. Motorists are advised to check real-time traffic conditions using navigation apps such as Waze and Moovit. The municipal 106 hotline will provide traffic and public transportation updates throughout the event.

The Maccabiah Jerusalem 2026 Night Run will begin at Sacher Park. The runners’ village will open at 6:30 p.m., with the first wave of runners setting off at 7:25 p.m. The event will continue until late in the evening, with the last participants expected to finish by 11:00 p.m.
