Microsoft Introduces TRELLIS 2: A New Standard for Rapid 3D Generation
Microsoft introduces TRELLIS 2, a 4-billion parameter neural network for generating realistic 3D models in seconds with support for physically-based rendering materials.

Microsoft has officially launched TRELLIS 2, an advanced neural network designed to create highly detailed 3D objects. The system is powered by an impressive model with 4 billion parameters. Its standout feature is the O-Voxel architecture, which excels at recreating complex geometry-ranging from leaf structures to clothing folds—while eliminating the visual artifacts commonly found in neural network outputs.
Key Features and Speed:
- Instant Results: Creating a model at 512px resolution takes just 3 seconds.
- Maximum Detail: High-definition object generation (1536px) takes approximately one minute.
- Material Realism: The system supports the PBR standard, accurately simulating transparency, metallic textures, and surface roughness.
The development is fully open to the community: the model is released under the MIT license. This allows developers and designers to use it for free for any purpose, including the creation of commercial products.
