Netanyahu’s viral video from The Sataf cafe garners tens of millions of views

A short video posted on March 15 to the Israeli Prime Minister’s account has quickly become one of the most discussed political videos of recent days. In the clip, the head of the Israeli government, while sitting in a cafe, reacted ironically to rumors of his death circulating on the internet. The Prime Minister jokingly remarked that he is “dying for coffee” and added that he also “loves his people very much,” skillfully playing on the double meanings of the words in a pun.
The filming took place at “The Sataf”, an establishment located in the Jerusalem Hills. Immediately after the video was released, the cafe’s management posted photos of the Prime Minister’s visit, thereby finaly confirming the authenticity of the footage.
According to open-source data and social media estimates, the video garnered approximately 60 million views on the X (Twitter) platform in the first 24 hours alone. The total reach across various platforms, including reposts on Instagram, TikTok, and other networks, is currently estimated at over 70 million.
Against the backdrop of an extremely tense situation in the Middle East, many users noted the unexpectedly light and pointedly ironic tone of the video. According to observers, it was this sharp contrast that helped the content go viral instantly and spark a large-scale discussion. Today, communication experts are calling this episode one of the most notable examples of informal viral content used in Israeli politics in recent times.
