New Knesset Museum Opens in Jerusalem

The Knesset Museum in Jerusalem offers an interactive journey into Israel’s parliamentary history at the historic Frumin House.

A new Knesset Museum has opened in the historic Frumin House on King George Street, Jerusalem. From 1950 to 1966, this building served as the home of Israel’s parliament.

The museum is designed as an interactive space, allowing visitors to experience the roles of Members of Knesset. Through touch panels, artificial intelligence, and light effects, guests can vote on historic laws, take part in debates, and make decisions as legislators did decades ago.

Key exhibition areas include:

  • Plenary Hall with authentic microphones and fans from the 1950s.
  • Government Meeting Room with a secret entrance, safe, and original protocols of David Ben-Gurion.
  • Animated portraits of Speakers that appear to converse with each other.
  • Kol Israel broadcasting studio, where visitors can listen to original radio reports simply by picking up an old telephone receiver.
  • The Knesset Cafeteria — a place of political intrigue with authentic dishes of the era, vintage menus, and classic furniture.

The museum offers a unique opportunity not only to learn about the key moments of Israel’s history, but also to feel the atmosphere of the Knesset, where Israeli democracy was born.
