Israeli Air Force Strikes Syrian Army Headquarters in Damascus in Response to Druze Persecution

The Israeli Air Force carried out a precision strike on the Syrian army headquarters in a district of Damascus. According to local sources, the target was facilities controlled by a faction linked to Abu Mohammad al-Julani.
Reports indicate that the strike was a response to increased pressure on the Druze population in southern Syria, where recent weeks have seen numerous incidents of persecution by radical groups.
The death of 80-year-old Druze Sheikh Marahaj Shahin sparked widespread outrage. Eyewitnesses say that prior to his death, he was subjected to violence and public humiliation by militants associated with the so-called “Julani regime.” Videos of the incident circulated on social media, fueling anger among the Druze community and human rights organizations.
