Turkey Cuts Trade Ties with Israel and Closes Its Airspace

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan announced that Ankara is fully severing economic and trade relations with Israel.
In addition, Turkey decided to close its airspace to Israeli aircraft.
According to Fidan, this step is part of a new Turkish policy aimed at increasing pressure on Israel. Speaking in parliament, he emphasized that Turkey has joined an international initiative at the United Nations, supported by 52 countries, demanding a halt to arms supplies that strengthen what he called Israel’s “war machine.”
The airspace closure is expected to have a serious impact on aviation routes. Flights from Israel to Moscow, Georgia, Azerbaijan, and several European destinations will now take an additional 1.5 to 2 hours.
At the same time, Israeli media report that airlines and airports in Israel have not yet received official notifications about the restrictions.
Experts predict that Ankara’s decision will lead to higher ticket prices and further escalation of diplomatic tensions between the two countries.
