Netanyahu Concludes Visit to the US: Gaza Ceasefire, Hostages, and Strengthening Ties with Washington

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has concluded a four-day visit to the United States, during which he held a series of meetings with American officials and President Donald Trump.
The main focus of the talks was efforts to reach a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip and the release of Israeli hostages held by Hamas.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, all key goals of the visit were achieved, including:
- Reaffirming Israel’s position: a ceasefire is possible only if Gaza is fully demilitarized;
- Discussing details of a possible deal for the release of some hostages—Netanyahu stated this could involve “about half” of those remaining in captivity;
Coordinating humanitarian aid and mechanisms for its distribution and control.
Netanyahu expressed hope that an agreement could be reached in the coming days, though no final deal has yet been achieved.
The Prime Minister also met personally with Donald Trump to discuss bilateral cooperation. According to the Israeli side, “Netanyahu and Trump maintain a close and strategically important relationship.”
Despite positive signals, no clear breakthrough on the ceasefire issue was reached. Negotiations are continuing with the mediation of the US, Qatar, and Egypt.
