Oleksandr Usyk Voluntarily Vacates Heavyweight Championship Belts

Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk has officially decided to relinquish his IBF, WBA, and WBC titles. The athlete is voluntarily making the belts vacant so that other contenders waiting in line can enter the ring and fight for them.
Previously, heavyweight boxers waited years for a chance to become champions, as leaders rarely gave up their trophies without a fight. Today, the thirty-nine-year-old athlete, who has won twenty-five professional bouts, changes this established order. He is personally giving his colleagues the opportunity to prove themselves and claim the top rank.
At the same time, the athlete reassured his fans and clearly outlined his future plans. Usyk promised the audience a “last dance,” confirming that he does not intend to retire from professional sports just yet.
