August Blitz Chess Tournament Takes Place in Ramat Gan
The traditional August Blitz chess tournament is taking place in Ramat Gan. Players are competing in a nine-round Swiss-system event to battle for rating points.

The August Blitz tournament takes place on August 3, 2026, at 16 Einstein Street in Ramat Gan. The event consists of nine Swiss-system rounds played with a 3+2 time control (three minutes per player plus a two-second increment per move).
The tournament is organized and directed by International Arbiter Paz Avineri. It is FIDE-rated, and live pairings, standings, and results are available on the Chess-Results server.
The starting list includes several strong Israeli players, among them International Master Guy Levin. The field has an average rating of approximately 1724. As is customary in blitz tournaments, all nine rounds will be completed in a single day.
