Sam Spiegel Film School Brings 10 New Projects to the Venice Film Festival

On September 7, the Venice Film Festival will host a showcase of projects from the Jerusalem Sam Spiegel Film School. Filmmakers from five countries will present ten new feature films to industry professionals.

The Jerusalem Sam Spiegel Film School is bringing ten new feature-length projects to the Venice Film Festival. On September 7, filmmakers will present the concepts for their first and second films. This pitch follows nearly ten months of intensive script development at the school’s international film lab.

This year’s final selection includes creative teams from Israel, Brazil, Hungary, Austria, and Germany. Directors and producers will outline their ideas and screen three-minute excerpts from their upcoming films. The event offers creators a platform to secure financing and production partners.

Participants will compete for production grants totaling $70,000 from the Beracha Foundation. These funds are intended to help move the projects into full production. In addition to the pitches, the festival will feature the world premiere of the completed film Children of the Monkey, developed with the support of the Jerusalem school.
