Sapir Group Smart Carts: Retailer Purchases 4,000 Cust2Mate Devices

Sapir Group is rolling out 4,000 new Cust2Mate smart carts across its supermarkets. This agreement with the retail automation manufacturer increases the company’s total fleet of smart carts to 7,000 units. The new technology will operate in branches under the Super Sapir and Neto Discount brands.
Built-in scanners and screens enable customers to independently register product barcodes directly on the sales floor. Shoppers track their total bill and pay for purchases via an integrated terminal. This technology completely eliminates the need to wait in checkout lines.
The massive equipment upgrade aligns with Sapir Group’s expansion in the Israeli market. Over the past two years, the company acquired 20 stores previously owned by Carrefour Israel. Management integrates Cust2Mate technologies to standardize service across new branches and attract more customers.
Retail automation continues to develop actively throughout the Israeli market. Supermarket owners integrate self-checkout systems and smart carts to reduce personnel costs. These solutions significantly accelerate the payment process and improve the overall customer experience.
