Saudi Arabia has officially announced the completion of extensive repairs on the East-West pipeline and its supporting infrastructure, which had previously sustained damage during Iranian strikes. Technical teams successfully mitigated the impact of the damage, returning the system to standard operating procedures. Currently, the pipeline’s throughput has reached its design capacity of seven million barrels of oil per day, reinforcing the Kingdom’s standing as a reliable energy supplier to the global market.

Spanning 1,200 kilometers, this strategic asset serves as the Kingdom’s primary transport artery, connecting oil fields in the Persian Gulf region to the Red Sea coast. The full operational capacity of the pipeline is critical for regional energy security, as it facilitates the direct transit of raw materials across the peninsula, bypassing zones of potential instability.

The Port of Yanbu, situated on the country’s western coast, holds particular geopolitical significance within this logistical chain. Utilizing both the port and the pipeline allows Saudi Arabia to diversify its supply channels and export oil while circumventing the Strait of Hormuz. Consequently, the restoration of this infrastructure not only restores previous pumping volumes but also ensures supply stability in the event of closures or navigational complications in the Gulf’s narrow maritime passages
