Shimon and Rivka Herzl reburial scheduled on Mount Herzl for August 5
The remains of Theodor Herzl's grandparents will be transferred from Belgrade to Jerusalem to lie alongside the founder of the State of Israel.
Shimon and Rivka Herzl’s remains will be transferred from Serbia to Israel in the coming days for reburial on Mount Herzl. The grandparents of the founder of the State of Israel, Theodor Herzl, previously rested in Belgrade. Their final resting place will now be located directly beside their grandson.
The official ceremony will take place on August 5. This date marks the 77th anniversary of Theodor Herzl’s own burial on the mountain. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Isaac Herzog will participate in the event.
