Teddy Stadium in Jerusalem Installs Soil Sensor System Used at World Cup Stadiums

Teddy Stadium in Jerusalem has completed a major upgrade of its football pitch. One of the key elements of the modernization is a new soil sensor system that monitors the condition of the pitch in real time. According to the Jerusalem Municipality, a similar system was used at stadiums that hosted matches during the most recent FIFA World Cup.
The soil sensor system, installed for the first time in Israel, collects data on soil moisture, temperature and salinity. The information helps specialists monitor the condition of the pitch and plan irrigation and maintenance more precisely according to current conditions.
The upgrade also includes a hybrid football pitch combining natural grass with synthetic fibers. Additional technical solutions are designed to help maintain stable playing conditions under heavy use and intensive match schedules.
According to municipal company Ariel, the upgrades enable Teddy Stadium to meet the requirements needed to host UEFA Champions League group-stage matches. However, compliance with specific UEFA requirements is determined through the organization’s established procedures and inspections.
