Tree Planting in Jerusalem: Oak, Plane, Syrian Ash, and Maple to Enrich City Parks

The Jerusalem Municipality is moving forward with its urban greening program. As part of the project, 600 new trees will be planted in various neighborhoods by the end of February. The first phase of work is already underway, involving the planting of approximately 300 trees, while the second phase will be completed by late February with the planting of an additional 300 saplings.
The saplings were sourced from a professional nursery following rigorous quality inspections by specialists from the Horticulture Department. Selected species include the Southern Hackberry, Syrian Ash, Oak, Carob, Syrian Maple, Plane tree, and others.
City Hall officials noted that this initiative is part of an annual plan. In 2025, approximately 2,200 trees were planted in Jerusalem, and upon completion of the current work, the total number of new plantings will reach 2,800
