Thousands of prayer notes removed from the Western Wall ahead of Passover
After removal, all notes were packed into special bags and sent for ritual burial in a genizah on the Mount of Olives.

Ahead of the Passover holiday, a scheduled cleaning of the Western Wall took place in Jerusalem.
Tens of thousands of notes left by pilgrims and believers were removed from the stones of the holy site.
The notes are carefully extracted using special wooden tools to avoid damaging the ancient stones of the wall or the notes themselves.
After removal, all notes were packed into special bags and sent for ritual burial in a genizah on the Mount of Olives. There, they are stored alongside old sacred texts, which, according to tradition, must not be destroyed.
The procedure was conducted under the leadership of Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz and in strict accordance with the requirements of Jewish religious law.
