Kaminetz Hotel, Navon House and Pasha House: Benin Complex in Jerusalem Listed for NIS 420 Million
The Benin complex in central Jerusalem is officially on the market with a starting price of 420 million shekels. Estate managers estimate the final value of the property could reach approximately 500 million shekels. The sale is being managed by attorneys Oren Persky, Yitzhak Molcho, and Gil Efrati from the law firm A.S. Shimron, I. Molcho, Persky & Co.
Spanning roughly 10 dunams, the plot is situated between Jaffa, HaNevi’im, and Raoul Wallenberg streets. The site features 19th-century historical structures built from Jerusalem stone, including the former Kaminetz Hotel, the Navon House, and the Pasha’s House. Under the approved city plan, the future developer must preserve and restore these currently neglected buildings, integrating them into the new construction. The location also offers a direct connection to the light rail station.
The approved zoning plan permits the construction of two residential towers, rising 29 and 31 stories, which will house 295 apartments. The development project also includes a 200-room hotel, alongside designated commercial and public spaces.
The property originally belonged to millionaire Albert Benin, who passed away in 1999 without heirs. He bequeathed his estate to the United Jewish Appeal of New York. The revenue generated from this land sale will be directed to a scholarship and educational loan fund for Israeli university students pursuing degrees in science, technology, engineering, and medicine.
