Iran Attacks Israel with Ballistic Missiles After Hezbollah Violates Ceasefire

On June 7, 2026, Iran fired ballistic missiles toward Israel. This occurred a few hours after Israeli airstrikes on Hezbollah targets in the southern suburbs of Beirut (Dahiyeh). The Israeli military stated that the attack marked the first direct missile strike from Iran during the fragile ceasefire.
According to the IDF, the missiles were launched from Iranian territory, specifically from the Kermanshah region, as part of an operation codenamed “True Promise 5.” Israel’s “Iron Dome” air defense system successfully intercepted all the launched missiles. According to the latest reports, there has been no information regarding direct hits or casualties.
The Israeli strikes on Beirut were a response to renewed rocket fire by Hezbollah, which violated previous ceasefire agreements.
