Israel to Supply Ukraine with Modern Water Purification Systems for Frontline Regions

Israel is expanding its humanitarian aid to Ukraine by sending advanced water purification modules to war-affected regions. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the decision in early July 2025.
The initiative, approved by Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar and funded by the Israeli MFA, is part of Ukraine’s critical infrastructure recovery program, following widespread destruction from Russian attacks.
The aid package includes field-ready water filtration and purification systems, each designed to provide clean drinking water to tens of thousands of people. Delivery is coordinated through Israel’s international cooperation agency, MASHAV.
The systems will be installed in eastern and southern regions of Ukraine where water supply has been severely disrupted. According to international organizations, over 9 million Ukrainians now face challenges accessing clean water.
While Israel continues to refrain from supplying weapons, it remains committed to humanitarian support. Previous packages included field hospitals, medical equipment, generators, and food kits.
“In matters of basic human needs, Israel cannot remain indifferent. We act where it matters—ensuring access to water, medicine, and saving lives,” the Foreign Ministry stated.
The first installations are expected to begin operating in Ukraine as early as July–August 2025.
