Jerusalem to Open 42nd International Film Festival

Jerusalem Film Festival 2025 opens July 17 with “Sentimental Value” at Sultan’s Pool.

The 42nd Jerusalem International Film Festival will take place from July 17 to 26, 2025. The opening ceremony will be held under the open sky at the Sultan’s Pool amphitheater, featuring the Norwegian drama “Sentimental Value” directed by Joachim Trier.

Special guests at the event include Israeli actress Gal Gadot and Hollywood producer Lawrence Bender. The official competition will feature eight Israeli films, with a total prize fund exceeding 1 million shekels.

The festival is expected to be a major cultural event amid a challenging time for the country.
